Harris Dental Rides 1,000 Miles to Raise $100,000 for Charity
Our dentists recently returned from a grueling four day, one thousand mile motorcycle ride to Yellowstone National Park with nearly twenty other dental riders from around the country to raise one hundred thousand dollars for the Smiles for Life Foundation www.SmilesforLife.org benefiting children around the world.
Each motorcycle rider raised or donated a minimum of five thousand dollars in addition to committing to ride the one thousand miles.
Each year Harris Dental participates in the Smiles for Life Campaign by donating fees from teeth whitening to charity.  In the last two years combined, we raised nearly $150,000 for children's charities.  "Smiles for Life has done so much for children around the world over the last ten years that we decided to make an additional effort and contribution by participating in the motorcycle ride this year," Dr. Joe Harris said.
The ride dubbed "Miles for Life" was sponsored by the Crown Council www.CrownCouncil.com, an international association of leading dentists to which our dentists belong.  Over the last ten years, Crown Council dentists have raised over twenty-three million dollars for the Smiles for Life Foundation which benefits children's charitable programs world-wide.
"We are most appreciative for the contribution, commitment and courage of the Harris' and the efforts of all the dentists who were part of the ride," said Steve Anderson, co-founder of the Crown Council and the Smiles for Life Foundation.
Individuals can contribute to the Smiles for Life campaign each March through June by having their teeth whitened at Harris Dental. One hundred percent of the fee for the service is donated to charity. For more information, see the story below.

Smiles for Life
Thank you for helping make 2007 one of our best years yet for helping children in need.  Many of our established patients and many new patients had their teeth whitened between March 1st and June 30th allowing 100% of their reduced fee to be donated to children’s charities!
We received a tremendous amount of support from our community as we partnered with the Smiles for Life Foundation, Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids, and KNIX’s Tim & Willy Kid’s FUN-Dation for the benefit of children. Between March 1st and June 30th, 100% of teeth whitening fees collected at Harris Dental, totaling over $70,000, were donated to help children here and around the world.
KNIX’s Tim & Willy hosted several fun and exciting “White Out” days at our offices to promote our fundraising efforts.  We were thrilled with the generous response of the KNIX listeners and were grateful for the opportunity to meet so many genuinely nice individuals!
The Harris Dental team is always committed to giving back to the community that so generously supports us in our efforts to bring smiles to the faces of young and old alike.
